SACRAMENTO – As part of the California State Assembly’s annual celebration of Women’s History Month, Assemblyman Josh Hoover (R-Folsom) recognized Ashley Faison-Maddox as the 7th Assembly District’s Woman of the Year for 2026.

“I am honored to recognize Ashley Faison-Maddox as the 2026 Woman of the Year for the 7th Assembly District,” said Assemblyman Hoover. “Ashley’s dedication to empowering survivors of human trafficking reflects her commitment to protecting the lives of people in our community.”

Ashley Faison-Maddox leads with the belief that serving the entire family is how we create generational healing and restoration. Ashley is the Founder of Diamond Collective, a trauma-informed community offering long-term support to survivors of human trafficking and their children. In 2025 Diamond Collective served 50+ survivors of human trafficking and their children. Diamond Collective disrupts social isolation in the lives of these survivors with the vision to reduce re-entry to exploitation.

Ashely Faison-Maddox response to this recognition: “Being honored by Assemblymember Josh Hoover is deeply humbling. When I met him and shared my own story, and as we worked on legislation together, I had no idea it would lead me here to receive this recognition. I hope it encourages our communities to continue supporting survivors of human trafficking navigating life after complex trauma – I’m proof that it’s not in vain. Having safe people walk alongside me and show me the beauty of life has inspired my work at Diamond Collective. There’s always hope, and we aim to give survivors across the state something to look forward to on their path to restoration. Thank you for recognizing how important this is and modeling the power of community and connection.”

Josh Hoover represents Assembly District 7, which includes the cities of Citrus Heights, Folsom, and Rancho Cordova and the unincorporated communities of Carmichael, Fair Oaks, FoothillFarms, Gold River, Mather, McClellan Park, North Highlands, Orangevale, and Rosemont.
